IBM WebSphere MQ Client RfhUtil is a lightweight utility used alongside IBM MQ to create, inspect, and manipulate messages on queues. It is especially useful for working with RFH2 (Rules and Formatting Header) and JMS properties, allowing you to view and edit MQMD fields, RFH2 folders (mcd, jms, usr), and message properties with ease.

Key capabilities:

  • Put, get, and browse messages on queues for testing and troubleshooting
  • View payloads in text or hex, with optional XML formatting/pretty-printing
  • Add, remove, or modify RFH2 headers and custom properties
  • Set MQMD attributes such as persistence, priority, expiry, CCSID, and encoding
  • Import and export messages to files to reproduce issues or build test cases

Typical uses include validating JMS header mappings, simulating producers/consumers during development, and diagnosing message-flow problems in IBM MQ–based integrations. Requires IBM MQ client libraries and connectivity to the target queue manager.

IBM WebSphere MQ Client RfhUtil is developed by IBM Corporation. The most popular version of this product among our users is 6.0. The name of the program executable file is amqicsdn.exe.
